A slate-stone terrace opens into the valley — a place to sip, read, breathe, or simply do nothing.
Whether you’re starting your day with fresh-brewed mountain tea or ending it beneath a sky of slow-moving clouds, this space was made for stillness.
Inside, you’ll find a quiet lounge with handmade furniture and sun-warmed nooks. Outside, the Knuckles embrace you with birdsong, breezes, and silence. The world slows down here — because it’s meant to.

History of the Villa Dhūmragiri
Villa Dhūmragiri was born from a desire to blend design, landscape, and deep cultural roots. Built with the vision of honoring the Knuckles’ sacred geography, the villa was designed by acclaimed architect Madhura Prematilleke, whose work reflects both restraint and reverence.
The name “Dhūmragiri” — meaning ‘the grey mountain’ — is a tribute to the region’s ancient Sanskrit references. Every corner of the property nods to its past: stone foundations laid by local masons, timber carved by artisans, and spaces shaped by stillness, not spectacle.
